The Martinsville Community Band is an all-volunteer band serving Martinsville, Indiana, and surrounding communities. We are musicians and students. We are your neighbors, friends and co-workers. We come from all walks of life and we all come together to share our love of music with each other and our community.

 

In the spirit of community bands there is no audition for membership. If you play (or used to play) a band instrument, you are most welcome to come play with us. Many of our members set aside their instruments after their school days, thinking they'd never play again, only to reconnect years later with their love of music through the Martinsville Community Band. Others are students, just starting their journey. Others are life-long musicians coming together in fellowship to give back to their community. Even if you no longer have a playable instrument, we may be able to help! We have a certain number of instruments to loan new members until they can find one of their own.

 

We perform at community events throughout the year. Our music spans many genres from Sousa marches to pop, from big band to movies, from Lady Gaga to Led Zeppelin. We rehearse every Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 at the First Baptist Church in Martinsville. Our rehearsals are informal, fun and friendly. And we bring that spirit of fun and friendship to every peformance.
